Constantza (Romania)
Constantza is a dear city to me because I used to spend most of my
summer holidays there, at the house of my maternal grandparents. The
waterfront (which you see here) was a place to run around, look at the
ships, marvel at the impressive casino and visit the little acquarium.
The story of the casino, (which you can see in the yellow-ish picture)
is that the person who built is was an extremely rich man, who gambled
a lot. One day, he lost most of his money gambling, and it is said that
he poured the "little" he had left over into building a casino in the
shape of a hearse, as a warning for other gamblers.
In January 2006, the city of Constantza finally got some SNOW (this had
never happened during my lifetime) and here is what it looked
like...(makes me wish I was there)!
